About Wouter Nieuwesteeg
Wouter Nieuwesteeg has been working at AKD since 2019. He focuses in particular on property law, insolvency law and security rights. Wouter is also a PhD-candidate and an experienced lecturer at the University of Tilburg. His doctoral research focuses on a legal-historical comparison between security rights under the old and new Dutch Civil Code in view of the drastic changes that the legislator made on this subject.
Wouter regularly publishes in these areas and also provides post academic courses for practice. He is a fellow at Insolad and a member of the Younger Academics Network of Insolvency Law (YANIL). Wouter has also worked as a tactical detective in the Hart van Brabant district for several years.
