About Pieter Huys

Pieter Huys is a partner and lawyer at AKD who specialises in employment law.

Heading AKD’s employment law team, Pieter has wide-ranging experience in national and international issues relating to the law governing individual dismissals, reorganisations and transfers of business ownership (including outsourcing and insourcing). His work also covers co-determination law, collective labour agreement law, non-competition and confidentiality clauses, compensation and benefits, health and safety, fraud and compliance, and global mobility. Pieter is an experienced litigator and boardroom counsellor.

Pieter is also part of AKD’s Sports & Entertainment team. He is well up to speed with relevant laws and regulations and have first-hand experience handling the different types of dynamics and stakes at play this sector.

Pieter's clients are leading national and international companies and organisations. He is well-known for his in-depth advice and capacity to think in terms of real business solutions. He is highly valued by his clients in that regard as well as for being a people’s person with unerring instinct for establishing successful business relations and partnerships. The words “no, that's not possible” are not part of his vocabulary.
