About Iris den Bieman

Iris den Bieman has been a lawyer with AKD since 2017. She represents housing associations and municipalities, among other clients, advising them on such topics as the Housing Act [Woningwet], the Tenants and Landlords (Consultation) Act [Wet op het overleg huurders verhuurder], corporate law and liability law. Iris knows the sector-specific rules of the housing association sector inside-out. If necessary, she will consult with the Netherlands Authority for Housing Associations.

Iris's experience ranges from the dispute resolution procedure on performance agreements to procedures involving tenants' organisations (on such subjects as the recognition of the tenants' organisation, reimbursement of expenses and the appointment of tenants' committee members). She regularly advises municipalities about private-law liability issues, such as defective buildings.

Iris combines advisory work and litigation in her practice, and in addition to regularly publishing articles on the developments in her area of expertise, she teaches a variety of courses.
