AKD has appointed Frits Schneider as a criminal lawyer in AKD's Regulatory and Governmental Affairs practice group. Schneider will commence his work at AKD as an associate partner on 1 September.

Erwin Rademakers, managing partner at AKD, says: Frits brings to our Corporate Fraud & Criminal Law team a wealth of both national and international experience as well as knowledge of economic crime and compliance. Frits's appointment enables us to further implement our strategy to combine our full service provision with in-depth specialisation.

Schneider started his career with the Amsterdam police force, where he led various investigation units. In 1991 Schneider made a career switch to Stibbe, where he spent many years working as a specialist criminal lawyer. His most recent position was with Borg Advocaten, where he was responsible for regulatory law and the law on penalties.

Frits Schneider is a member of the Dutch Association of Criminal Lawyers (Nederlandse Vereniging van Strafrecht Advocaten) and also a deputy judge at the District Court of Oost-Brabant.
