Multinational chemicals group DSM is about to move its head office to Maastricht, having been based in Heerlen for 120 years. The science-based company specialising in Nutrition, Health & Sustainable has instructed project developers EDGE and 3W to redevelop the former cinema and the adjacent former technical school building, a nationally listed monument, into a high-end, sustainable head office. EDGE and 3W have entered into a 20-year lease with DSM. AKD advised EDGE and 3W on the acquisition of the complex, the development agreements and the lease. The AKD team consisted of Julian Versmissen, Bas Collard, Aukje van Griensven, Thijs Lammertsma, Jamaal Mohuddy and Allison Krekels.
